MENDED HEARTS' DONATION HELPS
LIFE STAR TEAM EDUCATE OTHERS
From Rtra, A Publication for the employees of Hartford Hospital, August 30, 1999.
Hartford Hospital's LIFE STAR Program recently received a generous
donation from the Greater Hartford Chapter 9 of the Mended Hearts. The Mended Hearts is a community support group for individuals
who have heart disease or have undergone (or will undergo) open heart surgery, providing an essential role in education and emotional
support for the patient and family. Over the past several years, because many of these patients require air transport to get to a
cardiac center where the surgery can be performed, LIFE STAR team members have provided the Mended Hearts community education about
air ambulance transportation.
The program will use the donated funds to purchase a slide projector for use by the LIFE STAR team to enhance their community presentations.
